Kaikoura Eartquake

Hey guys today I done a review on the Kaikoura Earthquake that had happened on Monday 14/11/16. Hope use enjoy it Bye!

Kaikoura Earthquake

What happened? Where did it happen? (100 words)
A very big earthquake that was the size of 7.5 has hit Christchurch, near Hanmer Springs. The earthquake was 16 km deep and it had hit at 12.02 am. It then was followed with more than a dozen of aftershocks across the country. A warning has been issued to a number of areas around New Zealand that a Tsunami might be hitting to those areas. This also includes all of the East Coast in New Zealand. It has been said and heard by people that a 2m Tsunami has hit Kaikoura. An unknown amount of people have been injured.

How did it happen? (50 words)
The reason this had happened was because our world is not just one piece of land it is mixed up with 20 pieces of puzzles (kind of). They move a lot but we cannot feel it because it moves very slowly. But when 2 of these puzzles/ another word for it is Titonic plates bump into each other it makes an earthquake. Sometimes it is so small that we might not be able to feel it, and sometimes it is so strong that it can be felt over 1000 miles away.

Who was affected? (75 words)
It is said that at least 2 people have died during this earthquake due to buildings collapsing on them. An unknown amount of people have been injured and have been rushed to hospital. Families were really affected from this quake because they have lost their houses and some of their relatives. The wildlife/animals have been affected from this quake because half of the largest territory at Kowhai River appears to have been wiped out.

Bridge to Terabithia - Summary

Hello there. Today (as I said) I made a short summary on the Bridge to Terabithia. Hope use enjoy it. Bye!
Bridge to Terabithia - Summary
Their once lived a boy named Jesse. He lived with his mum, dad, and sisters. Then Jesse got some new neighbours. He met a girl named Leslie and they became friends. Together they made a kingdom called Terabithia. They built a castle/palace and Jesse adopted a dog to make their troll. They both agreed on naming the dog P.T short for prince Terrian. In the school that Jesse and Leslie went to lived a bully her name was Janice Avery. They wanted to get revenge on her for every single mean thing Janice had done. So what they did was, they planted a letter in Janice Avery’s locker tricking er into thinking se had a secret admirer. One day Jesse and his family were getting ready to go to church and Leslie asked if she could go with them. Leslie enjoyed that moment. The rope that Jesse and Leslie had used to get across the lake  to Terabithia had broke while Leslie was swinging on it, she was a good swimmer but what had happen was she bumped her head on the tree and she had become unconscious and then she
drowned also the lake had gone deeper from all those times it had rain. Jesse and his family were shocked of the death of Leslie. Jesse couldn’t believe it. One day Leslie’s dad was getting ready to
go somewhere so Jesse asked Leslie’s dad if he could take some wood. Jesse had built a bridge over the lake and it lead to Terabithia. Jesse had mourned Leslie and he had crowned Maybelle (Jesse’s little sister) princess of Terabithia.

Bridge to Terabithia - Book Review

Jambo guys. Today I made a book review on a book called Bridge to Terabathia. Stay tune on my blog to see my summary/recount on the book. Hope use get a chance to read the book. Enjoy by the way I did get all the right amount of numbers in the paragraphs!

Bridge to Terabithia book review
IALT: summarize and evaluate a book I have studied to show deep thinking

Who was your favorite character in the book? Why? (75 words) My favorite character is Leslie because she is exactly like me. She likes to make new friends and she also likes to stand up to bullies. She is also my favorite character because she is characteristic, and she also is imaginative. She is also very fast so that can relate to me (not because I am not fast). I can also relate to her because we like to go on adventures. She is my favorite character because we are both confident so we are basically twins.

What was your favorite part of the book? Why? (100 words) My favorite part of the book is when Leslie and Jess become friends and then they make the kingdom of Terabithia. This is my favorite part because it shows Whanaungatanga (making positive relationships). It is also my favorite part because in a good way it shows others especially boys and girls that hanging out with someone that is a different gender doesn’t matter because we are all the same - We are all human being’s! This is also my favorite part because it is the beginning of a new adventure! It is also a beginning to a new friendship and Bridge to Terabithia!

Would you recommend this book to someone else? Why/Why not? (50 words) Yes I would because it is a good book, and it has lot’s of messages in the text. I think this book would be great for my little cousins because it has lot’s of interesting words. It also has messages in the text that I think can help them in life because right now they are going through moments where they think that hanging out with boys is a bad thing. That’s all for my book review!

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Kia Ora. Today Tamaki Primary and some other schools went to the hoyts to celebrate the Manaiakalani Film festival. The manaiakalani festival is when all schools around Panmure and Glen Innes make movies about their learning to show other schools what they have been learning about. Me and my buddy Jahna really liked room 10's/Student leaders movie because of how entertaining it is. And also we all know whose school was the best TAMAKI PRIMARY SCHOOL! I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for it to come again.

Jahna

Hey guys. I would like to introduce you to my buddy. This is my buddy Jahna, I am really excited to go to the manaiakalani festival with her. Jahna is a year 1 student at our school, she is in room 1. Her favourite color is yellow. If I could describe her in one word I would say she is cute. She says that she would describe me as pretty. I am looking forward to more fun that there is to have.
