POOL DAY!!!

Pool Picnic Day!

On Tuesday 27th of February all of the TPS students went to the Lagoon Pools for a pool picnic day! The total cost of this trip was $7 (including swimming pool, and water slide).

We all got onto the bus and when we were ready off we went. The Kia Manawanui syndicate rode in the bus with room 6 and room 8 while the rest went in another bus. When we arrived to the pools it started to rain a little bit we were a bit sad but knew we were still going to swim.

When we walked into the pool it stopped raining YASS!! Everyone was happy but confused about the weather. Everyone got changed into there swimming togs and sat down on the concrete and benches under the shade. We met a lady and she talked to us about what to do and what not to do, next Ms. Aireen and Mrs Kelly explained who was doing what and when etc. The Kia Manawanui syndicate got to do a triathlon in the big pool while the juniors went on the hydro slide and the middle syndicate went to the little pool.

In our triathlon we first done a warm up. The warm up was to swim to the other side and walk back, I wasn't really good at swimming but that's something I can work on. After our warm ups we had to run backwards, next we had to get into a group of three and ride the noodle like a horse to the other side, then we had to get into peers. One peer had to hold the noodle in a curve while the other swam in front of it. The peer holding the noodle had to run backwards while the other kicked their legs.

After the triathlon it was time the Kia Manawanui syndicate got to have free time YAY! This was the best part because all of the students got to play with each other and get to know each other properly.  It was so funny because some boys were stealing the balls from the girls and the girls would have to try and get it back from the boys, it was also fun because a year 8 boy named Aumau started to dunk all of us in the pool (even though it wasn't allowed oops).

After our free time it was time for lunch, for lunch we had free sausage sizzles and it was so DELICIOUS! After we ate it was finally time for the Kia Manawanui syndicate to go on the hydro slide YAY! I went on the slide twice and had so much fun.

After, some of us only had two turns and went back to the pool to swim. I had so much fun and can't wait for next years pool picnic!
