Good Afternoon and welcome back to my blog! Today is Sunday and my family were supposed to go to church! My dad ended up going by himself but I watched bible stories and today's version was the book of Matthew!
In the book of Matthew I learnt about how the birth of Jesus the messiah occured. Mary was pledged to marry Joseph, but before they were together she was found pregnant through the holy spirit. Joseph was faithful to the law and however did not want to expose her to the public. When he had seen her standing in public he decided to divorce her quietly.
After he had considered this an angel of the lord appeared in his dream saying "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the holy spirit. She will give birth to your son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of God commanded him and took Mary home as his wife but he did not make their marriage happen until she gave birth to their son and he gave him the name Jesus.
