💻Graphics Lesson 4!💻

💻Graphics Lesson 4!💻
IALT: Reflect about Technology!
Kia Orana and welcome to my blog! This week Thursday was our last technology session for term 3! In this lesson we basically just learnt how to use Tinkercad because that is what we will be using to design our phone stands!
Image result for tinkercad
We first started by doing our lessons. On Tinkercad there are certain lessons you do before you get started with working by yourself. These lessons give you knowledge and information on what to do when using TINKERCAD! While I was doing the Letters Lesson, I made a screencastify showing what I done. Here it is:
After we were done with the lessons, Ms. Ferguson introduced to us a website called Thingiverse which lets you browse different types of things for FREE! On this website, our task was to choose something that we would like to play around with. I chose a Minion but what was bad about it was that it was to big for the work plane. The lesson was almost done by the time I found the picture which meant I didn't spend much time on the Minion! :(
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Learning Areas:
Image result for strategiesOne thing I learnt from this week's Technology session, is that when you use Tinkercad, they have options for you to use. For example to copy and paste you could do Ctrl C + Ctrl V or you could drag etc. I think this is really fun because it means there are more strategies to do one thing, just like there is more than one way to get to Sylvia Park!

One thing I found challenging was controlling the work plane. We have to use our touch pad (mouse) to look around the work plane but we could also use this work cube which says TOP, FRONT, BACK, BOTTOM, LEFT or RIGHT. I found this confusing because I couldn't get it to the angle I wanted it in. It was really difficult!
Image result for difficult gif
Image result for creative thinkingOne thing I enjoyed was being able to use 3D arts and shapes and objects to create something really big! Tinkercad is something I would use more often to create things!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUESTION OF THE BLOG: Have you ever used Tinkercad before?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback for my future! Bye :)

💬Blog Commenting- Helpful, Positive & Thoughtful!💬

💬Blog Commenting- Helpful, Positive & Thoughtful!💬
IALT: Helpfully, Positively and Thoughtfully blog comment on my classmate's blog!
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! Today in writing, we wrote a reflection about Ako Evening and now we are doing BLOG COMMENTING!
Related image
I commented on 3 different peoples blog, and these people are - TomaStar, and Faafiu! I made a DLO showing all three comments! Here it is:
Here is the task link - CLICK ME!

I enjoyed doing this task especially seeing everyones work! I also enjoyed giving some people POSITIVE feedback and feedforward for their future!
Image result for bright future
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I enjoyed in this task was being able to grow as a learner by commenting on other people's blog! I also enjoyed seeing others learn more and more about how to blog comment with the help of Ms Komor!
Image result for help
My next learning goals are to continue to do more of these, as it will help my knowledge and learning with others!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading this blog! I hope you enjoyed reading! I will be doing more of these, and I will probably do one but with students from another school! Bye :)

👩‍💻Technology - Graphics Lesson 2!👩‍💻

👩‍💻Technology - Graphics Lesson 2!👩‍💻
IALT: Reflect on Technology!
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! Last week in Graphics for Technology, we done some COMPARING and CONTRASTING, and we also drew some 2D and 3D shapes!
Image result for GRAPHICS
Here is the DLO of my Compare and Contrast!

In this task we had to choose two pictures of DIFFERENT phone stands and add them to the DLO. We then had to list differences and what makes one phone stand unique and then we had to list down how they are similar etc.

For our 2D shape and 3D shape activity, we got given a piece of paper and we learned about Oblique and how to draw 3D shapes! What you do is you draw the shape chosen, for example a square. Then you would draw another one but up and to the side of the first square. Then you would connect the lines and there you have it, a CUBE!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I enjoyed in last weeks session was seeing Ms Ferguson's example of the COMPARE and CONTRAST! She used a Banana and a Orange to show us what we needed to do! It was hilarious because some people in the group started to argue whether Bananas had seeds or not!
Image result for bananaImage result for orange
One thing I found challenging was drawing the shapes because I ain't an artist but I still tried my best and gave it a go! I think I done pretty good but I know I could've done better!

Question of the blog: Have you ever been in Graphics? If so did you do this task?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some positive feedback and feedforward for my future learning! Bye :)

🙌Ako Evening Preparation!!🙌

🙌Ako Evening Preparation!!🙌
IALT: Reflect on how the Kia Manawanui syndicate prepared for Ako Evening!
Malo e lelei and welcome to my blog! Yesterday was a very special day for me because it was my sister's graduation, it was also the day of AKO EVENING! At the beginning of the term the Kia Manawanui syndicate planned on doing a big PRODUCTION for Ako Evening!
Image result for ako
Image result for narratorThis production was based on NATURAL DISASTERS AROUND THE PACIFIC!!! We all were put in groups and in these group there was a leader. The leader had to write a story about a natural disaster, based on the myth/legend they read! After that they had to write script related to the story and they had to allocate the roles so everyone in their group had one! Me and Grace ended up doing the Niue group since no one else was doing it.

After the scripts were made, each group done a few reading task for 2 - 3 weeks before learning their script. A few weeks ago everyone got their scripts and started practising just reading aloud to each other. This helped everyone get comfortable with reading their lines to everyone, and also helped some students read with expression! My job as the narrator was to write my script.
Once I finished writing my script, Ms Aireen started working on it. She edited it so it sounds more interesting and she also added more lines to it. I really liked how Ms Aireen edited my script, it really taught me how I should write at my standard!

Last week and this week, costumes were made, lines were learnt and everyone was setting up their area for their scenes. Did I mention, each group had a scene each and also an area where they would be performing in. My part was to lead all the whanau into room 10 and guide them around so they could see each scene. I was really looking forward to the production, I knew it was going to be a BLAST!!!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I found challenging was trying to find certain people because EVERYONE WAS EVERYWHERE!!!!! If I would see Cerenity, someone would call me and when they're done I would turn around and Cerenity is gone!!!

One thing I enjoyed about the preparation for the Ako Evening was seeing everyone work together as a team to get their costumes, props and scenes ready for the day! Everyone was working so hard, especially those that had to perform in 3 different scenes! I also enjoyed seeing everyone have fun just talking and lying down whenever we got a break, just to have a little rest and settle down altogether!

One thing I did not enjoy was that there was a possibility I wouldn't have made it, and I didn't. :( Yesterday, like I said was the day of my sisters graduation. It was during school hours and when it finished it was already like 4:30! It was in town, at Aotea Square and when we got home it was like 5:00. I ended up staying at my aunties house while all the adults went to my sisters graduation dinner! I was really sad I didn't make it, I really wanted to do the narrating part but I also wanted to see everyone perform. I was lucky enough to have Akanesi fill in for me! I heard she done a FANTASTIC job!!!
One thing I learned from the preparation for Ako Evening was that TEAMWORK makes the DREAMWORK! And also that if you put your mind to it, you're capable of starting anything and finishing it, just like the Kia Manawanui syndicate did!!!!!!

📓Maths - Multiplying Fractions By A Whole Number!📓

📓Maths - Multiplying Fractions By A Whole Number!📓
IALT: Multiply Fractions by a WHOLE number!
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! This week for Maths, the Kia Manawanui syndicate has been working on Multiplying Fractions by a WHOLE number! If you do not know what this means, here is an example:
We got given a worksheet to complete in our books and I think I have been doing REALLY GOOD with it! Fractions is actually one of my MANY STRENGTHS in Maths and I LOVE to do it!
Image result for I love maths gif
I got stuck on Question 4a and 4b because it was a word problem. I think I got stuck on this because I was thinking to much about it instead of just realising, "If DIFFERENCE is using the action SUBTRACTION, what would I need to do to figure the question?" Instead of that I went, "Well, I think if a/b and c/d is next to each other, should I add them together and then think about what e/f x 5 is?" I think that is something I can work on, thinking outside of the box... but not going over the line. Here is a snapshot of the two questions I got stuck on:
I now know that to solve A I need to go:
1. First I thought to myself, "If 9/9 was the TOTAL AMOUNT of EVERYTHING, and 4/9 was sold in the morning how much was left?"
 5/9 because 9/9 - 4/9= 5/9

2. Next I figured out what 5/9 of 54 was.
So, 5/9 of 54 (5/9 of the total amount) = 30
Because 54 divided by 9= 6
6x5= 30

3. Now I know that 30 is my answer, which means they sold 21 in the morning and 30 in the afternoon!
-----------------------------------------------------------
I also know that to solve B I need to go:
1. First I realised that if 1/4 was meant to be cut off, but she cut off 3/7, I need to figure out what 3/7 of 56 is. This is because Ms Komor gave me two pencils but she was only meant to give me one, in order to fix that she needed to take ONE AWAY!

2. Next I went 3/7 of 56= 24
Because 56 divided by 7= 8
And 8x3= 24

3. After that I went, 1/4 of 56= 14
Because I know that 4x12=48
And 48+8=56
8+4=2 which means it'll be 14 because 12+2= 14.

4. Lastly I subtracted in order to find the difference between 24 and 14.
24-14=10 Which means that she cut 10cm more of what she was supposed to!
-----------------------------------------------------------I am now up to this question which I am going to try figure out tomorrow at school:
Here is the link for the worksheet task:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Learning Areas:
I have enjoyed getting to understand more and more strategies by asking my classmates and peers for help. I have also enjoyed being able to help others understand more how to do this by presenting my knowledge with the group!
Image result for together emoji
My next learning goals are to write down strategies in my book so I can keep it as a little reminder of what strategy to use! It'll help me so much more in maths and I love the idea!

🇳🇿My Pepeha - 'Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori' Maori Language Week!🇳🇿
IALT: Talk about Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori and my Pepeha!
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! Yesterday was the beginning of Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori! Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori is basically Maori Language Week! Yesterday we had an assembly addressing the Maori Language week and the Kia Manawanui also made their Pepehas! We had to make a DLO showing the Pepeha and we also had to make a Screencastify of us reading the Pepeha!

Here is the DLO of my Pepeha:

Here is the Screencastify I made, I hope you enjoy watching!
----------------------------------------------------------
My Learning Areas
One thing I enjoyed in this task was being able to use the Maori Language to tell my story! I think I enjoyed this the most because I love to learn new things especially when it comes to new languages!
Image result for different flags
One thing I found challenging in this task was pronouncing some of the words, and also finding what my waka is, my marae and also where I come from in Tonga! I think I found this challenging because I don't know much of my history but I think I was glad to research more about myself!
Image result for learn gif
One thing I think I need to improve on is learning more about myself so when it comes to situations like these, I know what I need to write down!

Question of the blog: Are you Maori? If YES, what do you do to celebrate Maori Language week?

Thank you for reading this blog! I hope you all have a wonderful Maori Language week! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward for my future! Bye :)

❓Thinkers Key - Question Key - Natural Disasters!❓
IALT: Blog about my Question Key task!
Talofa Lava and welcome to my blog! I have finished two of my Thinkers Keys task and these two tasks were the Alphabet Key and the Interview Key! This will be my last thinkers key task and this key is the Question Key! As I said in my previous blog, each key has a guide! Here is the guide for the Question Key:
The answer is: to provide safety for people.

Write 10 questions that would give this answer.

In this task we get given an answer! The answer is: To provide safety for people.
We have to write 10 questions that will give us this answer!

I have made a DLO to present my questions! Here is the DLO:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Learning Areas:
Image result for thinkingOne thing I enjoyed in this task was using my knowledge to think, "If I was the person answering the question, what would I want the question to be?" I think I enjoyed this because I love to solve things in my head!

One thing I found challenging was obviously making the questions because it was really hard! I really wanted to make the questions deeper then my thinking is!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Question of the blog: Have you ever tried doing thinkers keys?

Thank you for reading this blog! I hoped you enjoyed the Interview Key, the Alphabet Key, and this one, the QUESTION KEY! Bye :)

🙂Inquiry - Thinkers Keys - Interview Key - Natural Disasters!🙂
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! On Friday I done two thinkers keys tasks since that was part of what we had to do for Inquiry! This Thinkers Keys task was the Interview Key!
I chose three different keys to do and these keys were the
Question Key
Interview Key
Alphabet Key
I have already done my Alphabet Key so, CLICK ME to read what I have done!

Image result for thumbs up
In each Key we have a guide! Here is the guide for the Interview Key task:

Imagine you are going to interview someone who specialises in a natural disaster of your choice.
Write 13 questions that you would ask them about that natural disaster. Include a range of question starters as well as open and closed questions.
Your questions should reflect your deep thinking.

Here is the presentation I made to show my questions:

Instead of using JUST a boring Presentation I decided to use Screencastify to ORALLY present my questions and learning! Here is the screencastify I made:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Learning Areas:
One thing I enjoyed in this task was being able use the feedback I get from Ms Aireen and Ms Komor which is to Screencastify your learning in a speaking way so that it shows your thinking in a deeper way!
Image result for talk
One thing I found challenging in this task was trying to think of questions that will help me and my study of NATURAL DISASTERS! I found this challenging because I needed to ask questions that will help me DEEPLY know about Natural Disasters!
Image result for challenge
I think I can improve on explaining my questions more so that my viewers/readers can understand why I asked the question and what it will do to help my learning about Natural Disasters!

Here is the little card I made for Lily:
This is what it says:
Dear Lily,
Happy massive 10th birthday! Thank you for all the laughs and for everything you have done for me! Thank you for cheering me up when needed and for having my back since I can remember!

All you have done for me is so appreciated and I would like to let you know I’m here for you whenever! I hope you enjoyed your little cake/surprise today! I love you Lily, Happy Birthday!

🙂Inquiry - Thinkers Keys - Alphabet Key - Natural Disasters!🙂
IALT; Talk about Inquiry and what we have been doing in Inquiry!
Malo e Lelei and welcome to my blog! For Inquiry yesterday, the Kia manawanui got given a task which was to complete three thinkers key! The three tasks I chose to do was the
Alphabet Key
Question Key
Interview Key
Here is the DLO to my Alphabet Key task!
In the Alphabet Key, we had to find words/phrases that are related to Natural disasters! E.g "H" would have the words Hurricane, Horrible etc.
As you can see, some letters only have one word and some letter don't even appear on this because I could not find a word for them! These letters are K, X, Y & Z!
Image result for alphabet gif
One thing I enjoyed about this task was that me and one of my BEST FRIENDS Grace were able to work together to get the task done! We struggled through some letters but we used T.E.A.M to get most of them done!
Image result for together everyone achieves more
One thing I found challenging in this task was obviously find words for each letter! I think I used 5-10 different websites to find words which I think is really good because I had to put my thinking cap on to do this!

My next steps are to continue to do these tasks so that I learn more about my learning of natural disasters!

👩🏼‍🎨Technology - Graphics Lesson One!👩🏼‍🎨
IALT: Blog about Graphics!
Malo e Lelei and welcome to my blog! Today has been a really fun day because we have Technology! We have had our last rotation and since we were in Cooking last time, we are now in GRAPHICS! Today we had two different tasks! Our first one was to use avatarmaker.com to make our own animated character and to also make a Google Drawing about ourselves! Our other task was to research about different mobile phone stands!
Image result for graphics
Here is my ME Google Drawing:
One thing I found challenging while doing this is finding PNG images to add to the Google Drawing! The hardest PNG picture to find was my favourite movie one which is Skyscraper! One thing I enjoyed was using Avatar Maker to create our own animated character!

I also enjoyed researching about different phone stands! I had a few favorites especially some Disney character ones! For example:
Image result for mickey mouse phone stand
We had a Google Drawing with a 3x3 table on it! We had different categories and these categories were
- Plastic
- Wood
-Metal
- Flat Bottom
- Legs
- Character
- Simple
- Clip On
- Other
In this task we had to find phone stands for each category and add it to the Google Drawing! Here is the DLO of my favourite phone stands:
We will be making phone stands in Graphics which I am looking forward to because I have a phone and I love to watch Youtube! I love to watch Youtube which means the phone stand I make will help so much because I don't have one at the moment!

➖➕Maths - Adding and Subtracting fractions with the related Denominator!➕➖

➖➕Maths - Adding and Subtracting fractions with the related Denominator!➕➖
IALT: Talk about what we have been doing in Maths recently!
Malo e Lelei and welcome to my blog! As you all may know MATHS is my favorite subject in school! I love solving equations and trying to figure out things using my head and mind! This week and last week Ms Komors group has been learning to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator! Here is a snapshot of our Follow up activity:
I find adding and subtracting fractions a bit easy but when it comes to word problems I find a challenge! Here is an example of a word problem in the activity:
I think this question is asking us to add which I obviously know how to do but my challenge is having to read the question properly to confirm I am adding! I am almost (not really) done but I still have HEAPS to do! Here is a snapshot of where I am up to now!
To solve question A I added the 4 and 3/4 + 2 3/8 and since I couldn't do this because the denominators aren't the same, I converted the 3/4 to make 8ths! First I multiplied the 4 by 2 because 4x2=8 and whatever you do to the denominator you HAVE TO DO TO THE NUMERATOR! So 3x2=6 which gives me 4 6/8 + 2 3/8 (see how the denominators are the same!) This gave me a total of 6 and 9/8 which is an improper fraction because the numerator (9), is bigger then the denominator (8). So I converted it into a mixed fraction which gives me 1 1/8 which means 1+6=7 so my answer is, 7 1/8!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Question of the blog: What is your favorite subject at school?

FUN FACT: When I grow up I want to be a teacher!

🇹🇴Tongan Language Week!🇹🇴
IALT: Blog about Tongan Language week!
Malo e Lelei and welcome to my blog! This week is a very special week because it is TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK! I am a proud Tongan and I am glad! This week has been a really fun week, on Monday we had a assembly addressing and introducing the Tongan Language week!
Image result for tongan performance
On Tuesday, today and tomorrow students from the Tongan community have been visiting different classes teaching them different Tongan greetings, songs and many more things! Today at lunchtime we set up different stations with different Tongan games! My game was Tolo Pato which is basically like Dodgeball.

At the beginning of the game there is one tagger on each side and the rest of the players are in the middle. When you get tagged you have to join the taggers which I think is really fun!
