I am in Graphics and I am looking forward to it! I can't wait to go to technology because I haven't been in so long! One thing I am looking forward to is seeing the design that I made for my phone stand! I can't wait to see what Ms Ferguson has in store for us!

Question of the blog: Do you go to technology?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward for my future! Bye :)

👻Happy Halloween - Tobruk Day!!!👻

👻Happy Halloween - Tobruk Day!!!👻
IALT: Blog about Halloween and Tobruk Day!!
Namaste and welcome to my blog! Today is a very spooky and special day because it is Halloween! Not only that but it is also... TOBRUK DAY!!!
Image result for Halloween gif

Image result for RED WORDSince Tobruk one for the tokens last term, everyone had to wear RED clothes! This is to congratulate and admire the hard work Tobruk has shown! I am wearing my MMT shirt and BLACK Jeans! I am glad to see that most of the people in the KM Syndicate wore red today! :)

It is also the 31st of October which means it is... HALLOWEEN! Halloween is a bad holiday which means some people don't believe in it, but I just see it as a day where kids walk around in SCARY costumes having fun while getting lollies at the same time! I don't believe in the devil's day which is why I see it like that! :)

➕➖Maths - Decimals!!➖➕

Maths - Decimals!!
WALT: Add and subtract decimals
Understand place value.
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! This week Ms Komor and Ms Aireen have put the Kia Manawanui syndicate on... Automatic. This means they have given us A BUNCH of tasks to keep us occupied while they can have time to do their testing, for our end of year reports! Our teachers are 2 hard-working individuals but together they make the definition of Hard-Working! We have Math tasks, Reading tasks, Inquiry tasks and independent tasks to keep us occupied. Recently we have been working on our READING TASK and our MATH TASK!
Image result for maths gif
Here is the presentation we got given with our maths task on it! :)
I have finished all of the slides which means I am now on to the follow up tasks! I find doing this type of work fun because after we've solved the problems we can do some digital worksheets!
Image result for digital gif

Image result for help each other gifOne thing I enjoy about doing this Maths is that I am able to practice my goal which is to EXPLAIN my strategy and how I got the answer! This helps me a lot because when students get stuck on their work, I am able to help them with what they need help on!

My next steps are to continue to practice more on my explaining because it will help other students understand my strategy and how I got the answer!

🍬No Trick-or-Treating for me?!!🍬

🍬No Trick-or-Treating for me?!!🍬
IALT: Blog about me not being able to trick-or-treat!
Kia Ora to you all and welcome to my blog! Today is Halloween as you guys all know and I am pretty sad because as I see all the kids in their costumes (some of them my age), I feel like I'm missing out on so much FUN!! :(
Image result for fun gif

As I was getting my costume ready to put on before we left, I felt this REALLY BIG PAIN in my stomach! It was so bad so I went to the bathroom and literally nothing happened! I was just in so much pain! I sat their for a while and then my mum left to get something. She came back and was surprised to find out that I was STILL in the bathroom, sitting their in PAIN!! She said I should just stay and have a rest which was quite upsetting! :(
Image result for upsetting gif
One thing I did enjoy about this was being able to share out the lollies my mum bought to HEAPS and HEAPS of trick-or-treaters! I saw many, many people from our school and I was quite sad to see all the lollies in their buckets/bags, all the costumes they were wearing and all the fun they were having! But I still got to talk to some of my friends and classmates like EdithCerenity, and Toma

Image result for candy gifOne thing I did not enjoy was not being able to get lollies! :( I was looking forward to going Trunk-or-treating with Grace and her siblings at the Panmure center, but I guess my stomach wasn't asking for lollies (I think it wanted fruits and veggies 🤣) I also didn't enjoy having to stare at my netbook watching Youtube, talking to friends, and TRYING to blog for over 3 hours! I was glad when my Mum and little brother came home, they bought back Pizza, and some candy!! 😋
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Question of the blog: Did you go Trick-or-treating, or Trunk-or-treating? (Where you walk around a set up of different stations with lollies and activities)

FUN FACT: This is my FIRST EVER TIME missing Halloween! (Not trick/trunk-or-treating)

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward! Bye :)

🛡️Reading Project - Biosecurity!🛡️
WALT: Use analysing skills to help us to critically summarise different parts of the text.
  • I can use examples in the text to identify key ideas.
WALT: Examine and evaluate key ideas
  • I can use examples in the text to support my opinions.
  • I can compare and contrast ideas in the text
Bonjour and welcome to my blog! Recently we have been working on our READING Task!

One reading task that I have kind of completed is the first one. Here is a presentation so you know which one I am talking about. :)
I have read the text which is about Biosecurity and I have created a Screencastify answering the questions on slide 3! Here are my answers:
What is Biosecurity?
Biosecurity is an organisation that protects our country and
countries away from pests and infectious disease. People that
come from other countries into NZ are scanned by a Scanner to
see if they have any diseases or Influenza (the flu). Biosecurity
uses technology such as Body Scanners, Thermometers,
X-Rays, etc to help prevent diseases, pests and dangerous
objects get into our country. Biosecurity saves our environment
and keeps our people safe. This is good for our health because
it means that we have a possibility of avoiding a flu outbreak.

Why is it important to protect our environment?
It is important to protect our environment because it is part of the
way we live. Biosecurity protects NZ from pests, diseases,
infections and threats. This protects our environment a lot!
It is important to protect our environment so our native plants
and animals stay safe.
Biosecurity does this by keeping non native things out of NZ.
This keeps our country healthy and clean but can also still cause
pollution!

Explain 2 different types of technology that is used in the technological world.
In the technological world there are so, SO MUCH different types
of technology that we use! 2 things we use in the technological
world are
X-Rays which can reveal signs of disease or injury and
produce shadow images of bones and some organs.
A thermal scanner is a scanner that can basically see
things in the dark.
It is similar to a X-Ray but instead it shows your temperature
and can detect things in the dark like swine flu etc.
Image result for biosecurity
I still have to complete making the Screencastify which I will blog as soon as I make it and I still have to do the last task on slide one which is to complete reading tasks on slide 6! This will take me a long time but I have the courage and faith which I am glad because it will keep me going for the rest of the term! :)

🇳🇺Technology In Niue!🇳🇺

🇳🇺Technology In Niue!🇳🇺
WALT: Identify Technology in Niue
Fakalofa Lahi Atu viewers and welcome to my blog! About 2-3 weeks ago it was Niuean Language week and since our Inquiry topic is about our Technological World, we got given an Inquiry task to do about the Niuean culture!
Image result for niue
This task was to create a padlet and list down types of technology categories. The Technologies we listed were:
Medical Technology
Energy & Power Technology
Digital Technology
Construction Technology
Transportation Technology

What we had to do with these was to write down how Niue uses these types of technology! I was buddies with Edith and we actually finished our padlet! Here is our padlet:

Image result for culture gifOne thing I enjoyed about doing this task was being able to learn more about not only the Niuean culture but they way they use technology! I love learning about new cultures and their traditions but I think researching information about the types of technology different countries use is one of the best things about learning about culture! :)

Image result for information gifOne thing I found challenging was finding information that was about Niue. When Edith and I would research on Google for stuff like Construction technology in Niue, it would show us stuff from America and South Africa which was pretty difficult! This didn't stop us from looking at many, many different sites and finding the right information we needed!

My next steps are to practice explaining in my own words, my understanding of an article or a piece of information! :-)

Question of the blog: Are you from Niue?

🇹🇴MMT Game!!! Mate Ma'a Tonga vs Australia Kangaroos!🇹🇴
IALT: Reflect on the MMT game!
Image result for mmt vs australia
Malo E Lelei and welcome to my blog! On Saturday it was a pretty big day because it was the MMT vs Australia NRL Game! It was REALLY HOT which was killing me but I still enjoyed the experience and seeing the Sea of Red!!!!
Image result for Solomone Kata

Tonga lost but it was still a good game! Seeing the fans just
encouraged me to keep pride in my culture! My favourite part about the game was just seeing all the fans singing, waving their flags and also hearing them sing along to the Australian national anthem made my heart melt. This is because their wasn't that much Australian fans so to see MMT supporters sing along gives me happiness! My favourite part about the actual game was when Solomone Kata got a try because he side-stepped all the
people that got in his way!

One thing I didn't like about the game was that when we asked the worker to give us an idea of where we were sitting, he said we were all the way on the top. When we walked allllll that way up to the top, we went to our seats and saw someone else sitting on it. We asked ANOTHER worker where our seats were and she said we were on the bottom! I was really mad because it was a pretty long walk! One thing I didn't like about the actual game was that Tonga kept on making mistakes! I know everyone makes mistakes but it's like every time they were right next to the try line, they would make a MISTAKE! I am still very proud of them for representing our country in NRL!

🎨Te Tuhi Reflection🎨

🎨Te Tuhi Reflection🎨
WALT: Reflect on our experience at the Te Tuhi art gallery.
Malo E Lelei and greetings to you all! Today the Kia Manawanui syndicate had their trip to Te Tuhi! I was in group 1 and we were the first group to go. I enjoyed my time at Te Tuhi and I hope you enjoy reading my reflection!
Image result for Te Tuhi

Image result for abstract artToday at Te Tuhi I learned many, many things! One thing I learned in our lesson today was that Abstract art is a type of art that puts pictures in peoples head. Like when you look at an Abstract piece of painting, you have to look at it clearly for you to figure out what it was!

Image result for technology in abstract artTechnology plays a great role in Abstract art because without it, honestly, there wouldn't be any art. I think this is because, using technology includes using paint, paint brushes, pencils, paper and many, MANY things! That's how technology plays a role in Abstract art!

In today's session we also learned how to MAKE Abstract Art! In the making of Abstract art, there are 4 simple steps (well, for our type of Abstract)! The steps we used were

1- Use the Matte side of the cardboard and use the stencils to trace in different areas.
In this step, we used 4 different stencils. I used the Phone, the Computer, the Controller, and the pencil!
Someone else's work!
2- Use a ruler to draw 2 lines going down and 2 lines going across (anywhere)!
In this step, I basically just drew 2 lines going diagonally down (to make a V shape), and 2 lines going across (to make a hashtag kind of shape)!

3-  Go over the lines with Vivid.
For this step I used a ruler to go over all lines.

4- Paint with 4 different colours and dry.
In this step, I used the colours LIGHT-BLUE, PURPLE, PEACH-PINK, & LIGHT-GREEN! To make the colours I used I mixed Red, Yellow, and White to make Peach-Pink, I mixed Blue and White to make Light-Blue, I used Green and White to make Light-Green, and I used Blue and Red to make Purple! The reason why I used these colours was because they're primary colours which I like because it means you can mix two colours to make another one!

I really enjoyed making Abstract art but I also enjoyed walking around the gallery and looking at different art exhibitions! I liked one exhibition where it had the Tongan Shield but in different form. The artist was Benjamin Work who is Tongan, and his exhibition/art work was called: Write it on the land, Seal it on the heart. The art he made was similar to the Tongan shield:
Image result for tongan shield

But instead it was with different symbols. He said that the symbols on the Tongan shield were made by Europeans and he wanted to use symbols that were made by our Tongan ancestors but similar to the original symbols! Here is his piece of artwork:

Leadership Program-Balancing Responsibilities!

Leadership Program-Balancing Responsibilities!
IALT: Reflect on our Leadership Program!
Fakalofa Lahi Atu and welcome to my blog! Today after the Earthquake drill, the student leaders had their leadership program with Ms Aireen! In last weeks lesson, we learned about Balancing Responsibilities!
Image result for leader
First we brainstormed about what Balancing Responsibilities meant to us. I was kind of familiar of what it was and what it meant but after our brainstorm, I knew what it was and what it meant to Balance your Responsibilities! Here are the ideas we came up with while brainstorming:

Image result for prioritise
1 - Balancing your role/duty as a leader and a learner

2- Time- Priositing when to do things
3 - Making choices which links up to showing the school values.
4 - Asking for help will help you balance responsibilities.
5 - Prioritizing which means organizing the things that are more important to focus on first, and move less important things to do last.

In our little workbook, we had different tasks/topics. We had three topics which were:
1 - School Work
2 - Leadership Duties
3 - Outside of School

The questions we had to complete with these three topics were:
1 - Who is someone that can help me with this often?
2 - When is this priority usually my highest priority?
3 - What is the main objective that I am aiming for with this responsibility?

I learned a lot in this session, I cannot wait for next weeks one!

Abstract Art - Reflection!

Abstract Art - Reflection!
WALA: What Abstract Art is!
Kia Orana and welcome to my blog! Yesterday in the last block, the Kia Manawanui syndicate learned about Abstract Art! The reason why we are learning about this is because next week we will be going to Te Tuhi and our teachers want us to be prepared.
Image result for Now Loading... Te Tuhi
The meaning of "Abstract Art" is, Art that seeks to achieve the effect of colour, shapes and texture. In my words I would say Art that uses color, shapes and texture to produce a realistic or non-realistic type of art.
The program that we have with the Te Tuhi art gallery is called "Now Loading..." We have pre-visit lessons since we are going to Te Tuhi next week. In yesterday's lesson we learned about different types of Abstract art and what abstract is. We also learned about an artist named Matt Henry!
Image result for Matt Henry Artist
I think the types of technology they use to make abstract art include pencils, paint, and paper, rulers, erasers, pens and many, many more things! You may think that it is simple to make Abstract art but in my opinion I believe it can sometimes be really hard because not only are you just drawing shapes and different objects, but you're using these things to make something!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I learned a lot in this lesson, I cannot wait to go to Te Tuhi!

➕MATHS!➕

➕MATHS!➕
WALT: Read Decimals into three places!
SC: I can read Decimals to three places.
I can explain the value of the numbers.
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! Today in the MAGNIFICENT MIDDLE BLOCK the Kia Manawanui dones some MATHS! This term we will be focusing on DECIMALS! Today for maths we learned about the value of the numbers in Decimals, we also done our buddy task where we get given a task to do and have to solve it with our buddies! I was buddied up with Grace and our Maths task was to order decimals from Greatest to Least or vice versa.
Image result for decimals
One thing I enjoyed about our Maths lesson today is that more and more people had the confidence to raise their hand and ask for help if they needed it! Another thing is when Grace disagreed with me we would explain our statement to each other and one by one bring out our ideas and why we think it is this way or this answer. After doing all of this we were able to agree and we asked Ms Komor for some help with our work!

One thing I found challenging was understanding Grace and her strategy! I think I just needed a little bit more of her explaining to help me understand but it was a little bit noisy so it was kind of hard to hear her!
Image result for speaking to each other silhouette
I really enjoyed today's math lesson! I learned even more than I thought I was gonna learn just in one lesson! My next goals are to explain the way I got the answer instead of just tell Ms Komor or Ms Aireen "I just know!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question of the blog: What are you currently learning about in Maths?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some feedback for my future! Bye :)

🙄What is Technology?🙄

🙄What is Technology?🙄
IALA: Technology
Malo e Lelei and welcome to my blog! Today the Kia Manawanui syndicate learned about TECHNOLOGY!!!
Image result for technology
2 types of technology I use everyday is my Phone (Communication) and my bed (Biotechnology)! These two things are like almost everything I need in life! They help me a lot and they give me time to think! My phone entertains me while my bed gives me comfort! I feel really good when I'm on my phone and on my bed, it makes me feel really comfortable and safe! :)
Image result for single bedImage result for iphone 6
My phone helps me contact my family in times of need but also entertains me with apps like Youtube and Netflix! My phone makes my life way better because without it, I would feel like I wouldn't have contact with my family if I am in danger or something like that! Not only my family but 111 who can also help me! I can also play games which keeps me from being bored! My phone also helps me with reminders and also lets me talk to my friends!
Image result for talk on the phone silhouette
My bed is a really comfortable place where I can do my homework, sleep, go on my phone, play with my little brother and also just sit down and write! It makes my life easier by giving me a comfortable sleep, warmth and also space to put my stuff (under the bed)!
My bed is like a safe spot to me because I know that whenever and whatever I need to do or get I can go to my bed and find it!
I feel like my bed is a cloud that gets me to sleep in a click! Is your bed similar to mine? I wonder if it can be a safe spot to you too!
Image result for safe spot
If I were to improve on my phone to help my life, I would make it have unlimited power! I think this will help my life and others because if your in a really important phone call, it is possible that your phone could die. With unlimited power, you could stay on an important phone call for HOURS without having to worry about charging! I don't know if this is possible but another way to do this is hold a portable charger in your purse or your pocket, this way you can charge your phone whenever and wherever!
Image result for portable charger
Question of the blog: What 2 types of technology do you use everyday?

Thank you for reading this blog! I really enjoyed learning about technology! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward for my future! Bye :)

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween - Reflection!

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween - Reflection!

Kia Ora and welcome to my blog! Last week Thursday, my mum took me and my little brother to the Event Cinemas in Manukau, to watch Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween!!!

Image result for goosebumps 2The movie was really cool, the funny thing about it was
my little brother kept on laughing at me because I was so scared and it was a KIDS movie!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
My favourite part about this movie was when Sam (the daughter/sister) saved her town by chasing Slappy, and using the book to capture every monster that affected their town! This was my favourite part because it showed that she had the courage to save her family and town from evil monsters!
Image result for goosebumps 2 slappy scene
I really enjoyed the movies especially eating all the YUMMY Popcorn and snacks we bought!

😎My first blog reflection for Term 4 2018!😎

My first blog reflection for Term 4 2018!
IALT: Blog my first reflection for Term 4!
Malo E Lelei, and welcome to my blog! Today is the first day of Term 4!!! I am really EXCITED for term 4 but first I just want to talk about two interesting things I done in the holidays!
Image result for term 4
In the holidays the two most interesting things I done in the holiday was go to the movies with my mum and little brother, and also go to the mall with my two cousins Vaiola and Lily!
Image result for holidays
Last Thursday, my mum took me and my little brother to the Event Cinemas in Manukau to watch the movie Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween! My favourite part about this movie is when the sister, Sam chases Slappy to kill him and his friends after she promises her mum she'll save her! This was my favourite part because Sam took the courage to keep her word and actually ended up saving her town!
Image result for goosebumps 2
The next day on Friday, me and my cousins Vaiola and Lily went to Sylvia Park to have lunch and do a little bit of shopping! We had $20 each and everything in almost every shop was over $8! We didn't want to spend that much money on one item so we ended up just using our money on FOOD! I bought me a $9.50 meal from the Sushi store, a Frozen Coke from McDonalds, and also a LARGE Chocolate Milkshake from McDonalds! I used $2 for the train which meant all my money was gone! I found this interesting because I learned so much about Vaiola and Lily and the way they spend their money!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I am looking forward to this term is learning more about DECIMALS because I love MATHS so much so I am looking forward to learning more in that area! One thing I want to improve on this term is BLOGGING! Because I feel like the more I blog the more learning I do! I can blog more by finishing my work on time. I think my friends can help me by choosing the right time to talk to me instead of distracting me!
Blogging helps me share my work with others which I love to do!
