2017

This year was a blast, I had so much fun! There were a lot of ups and downs but that's what life is full of. I learnt a lot and enjoyed being in a class where everyone was close. This year was one of my favourite years because not only I learnt from teachers and in one class I got to learn from my classmates in two different classes.

I'd like to thank Miss Ashley (my teacher this year) for putting up with me lol and to all my teachers I have had in the past six years. Next year I will be a senior and cannot wait! But I will miss my class! ðŸ˜¢

I'd like to wish use all a safe holiday also Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤

7 Wonders!

Hello. In the past three weeks Room 7 has been studying about the 7 wonders of the world. The 7 wonders of the world are sculptures and buildings that are natural or man made and are very famous to people in this world. In the beginning we got into groups and researched about the wonder. I chose Christ the redeemer and in my group was Saia, Amon, & Villiami.

First we researched about the statue and made a presentation.

Then we made a statue in 3d version which was really cool and ended up looking even cooler.

After three weeks of hard work it was time to present! Miss Ashley invited some classes and teachers to come and see our awesome work!

Easy Jam drops!

Today Room 7 and Room 8 done something really exciting in the morning block. First Miss Ashley got some  kids to pick some board games to take with us. Then we all lined up and went to the hall.

In my group was Hevani. She picked out a recipe which made Easy Jam drops. We had to use this recipe to make the food and I found it hard and easy at the same time.  These were the ingredients and instructions we needed to use:

Ingredients:

1. 125g butter, softened.
2. 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar.
3. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
4. 1 egg.
5. 190g (1 1/4 cups) self-raising flour.
6. Plain flour, to dust.
7. 115g (1/3 cup) strawberry or raspberry jam.

Method:

STEP 1 Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat in.
STEP 2 Add flour and mix into a stiff dough.
STEP 3 Break dough into small pieces, press hole in centre with a cork, and fill with jam.
STEP 4 Bake at 180C for about 15 minutes.

Yoga Challenge 2.0

Today 26th of October 2017
#Yogachallenge2.0

This morning Room 7 done something cool for writing. This term we have our writing test and it will be on recounts, so lately we have been doing really fun things to write recounts about. On Tuesday we done a partner yoga challenge which was really cool and easy (a bit) but today we done the yoga challenge 2.0 (which was a lot harder). “So today we will be doing the yoga challenge and i’m going to be honest with you, I saw some of these poses  and I am not good at this”, explained Miss Fepuleai, I didn’t have a buddy so I just took photos.

Miss Fepuleai showed us the first pose and I was like in my head, “Hard luck Room 7”  it was really funny to know that everybody struggled to do the pose while I just stood around taking photos. On the third or fourth pose Kika came and she became my buddy. It was difficult on the first few poses but then as we got more and more into the activity it got harder and even more harder especially the poses where you had to lean on each other and carry other people. Between each pose Miss Fepuleai would tell us to, “Inhale, Exhale,” and then she would  greet us with, “Namaste”.

The pose I found the hardest was most of them but the easiest was where two people had to put their knees out while someone does a handstand on their knees (it sounds hard but it actually is easy), this was my favourite pose to.

I really enjoyed the yoga challenge 2.0 and I hope there is an easier one in the future!

Yoga Challenge

Yesterday Room 7, Room 8, and Room 2 done the yoga  challenge but separately. Here is my recount:

Tuesday 24th of October 2017
Partner Yoga Challenge!

All students in Room 7 cried and cried to have P.E (Physical Education) on Tuesday afternoon but “NO!” was Miss Ashley’s answer she told us, “It’s not your normal P.E but it’s something active, you have one minute to make this room spotless, GO!”

After the room was clean everyone came down to the mat and looked up at Miss Ashley. I kept on wondering what we were doing “I think we’re doing board games, YAY!” I thought in my head. Miss Ashley casted her laptop to the T.V and it showed up in big bald words “Partner Yoga!” everyone was so confused and just looked at Miss Ashley like “what are we doing?” Miss Ashley explained to us that “use have to find a buddy and use have to be the same gender because this activity involves a lot of touching”, it was for our own safety. In the next five minutes Miss Ashley had two lines of students waiting for the next explanation.

Miss Ashley pressed the arrow button on her laptop and it showed a picture of two people sitting across from each other folding their legs, holding each other's hands, and looking up. I yelled out,
“Miss we can’t do this we’re not that flexible!”
“You don’t have to be flexible to do this”, she replied
“Ohhh, What,” whined Room 7.
It was getting so boisterous Miss Ashley couldn’t hear herself think and she was frustrated, “BE QUIET AND LET ME EXPLAIN!” she yelled, everyone went silent, “In your buddies make this position”, she explained, not even two minutes in everyone got up and done the first position while Stanley and Kika came around and took photos. The beginning poses were easy but it got harder and harder (we had to sit on feet hands and we weren’t standing upright!) On some of the poses I had to make sure that Hevani had balance and so did I but we still crumbled to the floor. Miss Ashley came and meticulously put my feet on Hevani’s feet.

After each pose we would come to the mat and Miss Ashley would repeat, “Inhale, Exhale”. Miss Ashley would use her hand to guide us. We were used to it so after our photo was taken we’d just sit down in buddies and breathe in through our nose and out from our mouth.

My favourite pose was the superman where your partner has her/his feet on your stomach and they lift you up into the air it was hilarious. The hardest one was the last where you had to do a handstand and put your leg on your partner's leg while he/she is doing the bridge. The easiest was the first because well we just sat down, extended our hands out and looked up.

I had so much fun doing this yoga challenge and I hope we can do it again(maybe tomorrow or today??) in the future.

Here are some photos:

My favourite pose :D

Best Friends to the rescue!

Today I made a narrative. Narratives are made up stories! My story is about to best friends named Ashley and Sarah Morrison. They lived in a beach house and  when they were swimming the saw something floating... Can you guess what it is, read my story and find out!

Once upon a time lived  beautiful young lady named Miss Morrison; well that was her nickname her real name was Sarah Morrison. She lived in a beach house with her best friend Ashley (her nickname was either Ash or weirdo because she done really weird things) . They always would do things together, they were  their for each other from day one. Ashley is older by five months and ever since then they’ve become sisters. Miss Morrison is the clown and Ash is again the weirdo.
One day Miss Morrison and Ash got  ready to go to the beach. “You ready?” asked Ash, “I was born ready!” answered Miss Morrison. They walked out of the beach house, “Hey Noah”,  said Miss Morrison  waving at the lifeguard. Noah was the lifeguard he sat on his chair waiting for someone to drown so he could help them (which didn’t really happen most of the time but he still got paid). Ash and  Miss Morrison strolled towards the blue ocean looking at all the people around them. Miss Morrison ran towards the ocean and fell into the water, “HAHAHA! YOU FELL!” laughed Ash. Miss Morrison the seaweed at Ash and waded away. Ash ran in as well but  she dived instead of jumping she looked like a mermaid. Miss Morrison and  Ash swam away and just talked and talked. They saw people swimming and some people on boats they were use to this environment and they  never thought they’d  be living in the  nicest beach house ever. As they were talking Miss Morrison saw something, “Hey what’s that?” she asked, “It looks like someone floating”, she added on, “OH MY GOSH SOMEONE IS DROWNING!”  they both yelled. Noah was too far away and they couldn’t yell that loud. “We can’t yell to Noah, we just have to save the person!” explained  Ash, they both ran as fast as they could towards the person and Miss Morrison picked her up. Ash tried her best to splash the water back so it was easier for Miss Morrison (it was really helpful).
They finally got out of the water. Ash sprinted as fast as she could towards Noah and told him about the girl. Noah and Ash ran to the girl. “Put her on the sand and i’ll do C.P.R on her.” Miss Morrison moved to the side while Noah put both of his hands on the girl's chest and pressed hard. The girl coughed and coughed. SPLOOSH! Out came water  lots of water. “Thankyou so much Noah I appreciate what you have done for me. You saved my life!” said the girl, “You're welcome Isabelle but I think you should thank these two young beautiful girls they're the ones who saved you!” said  Noah as he pointed to Miss Morrison and  Ash. “Thankyou so much use two, come over  for dinner tonight  we will be having some sushi!” said Isabelle. The two girls said yes and lather that night they were all dressed and ready to go. They became best friends and lived happily ever after!  As for Ash and Miss Morrison they were on the newspaper with the headline being: Best Friends to the rescue!

Facts about Space- P1

In week 9 and 10 we will be learning about space. We have different tasks to do and this is my first task!

Zoo Trip!

Yesterday Room 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 went to the zoo. We went to the zoo because it is part of our inquiry topic Leisure and Entertainment. I really enjoyed my time at the zoo because I got to see some new animals. My favourite part of our trip was all the animals I got to see like the squirrel monkey and the facts I got to learn about. My least favourite part of the trip was when I found out that the hippo had died :( I had lots of fun and can't wait to visit the animals again in the future!
