Class Teacher:  Miss Ashley

Hey guys. Yesterday at Whanau Conference my mum, little brother, and I walked to school for the parent, teacher conference. We walked into the classroom and saw Miss Ashley on her laptop. Miss Ashley and my mum talked about my learning goals. Miss Ashley also explained our clines to my mum. After that Miss Ashley handed my mum some notices about the new Facebook Page, and a permission slip about the creek. Then Miss Ashley gave my mum my book mark for my QR codes. When our interview was finished, me and my little brother went and played on the park.

The Worst Spelling Test Ever!

Hey guys. Today room 7 done a practice test about our spelling test. Give me some feedback on what you think about it. Bye!

The Worst Spelling Test ever!

Spelling is the worst! Like honestly it does help you with your learning and your education but why does it have to be boring? Like today Room 7 had a spelling test and it all went wrong. So here's what happened.

First of our teacher Miss Ashley said, “Room 7! Please put your netbooks away, get a pencil and your spelling test paper, and find a seat at a table.” It was as simple as that but what happens, everybody puts their netbooks away and takes forever to do what their told. After like 5  minutes of sitting around waiting for the class to settle down Miss Ashley starts the test. “The first word is Net”, says Miss Ashley. At first I was kinda stressed because I really did wanna get at least most of my words right but I stopped worrying about it  and just got on with the test. We start writing and wait for Miss Ashley to proceed.

I was trying to focus but I kept on getting distracted because Miss Ashley kept on stopping continuously because she got annoyed everytime everyone would ask her to repeat a word. As she continued it got boring and even more boring also hard and harder because some of the words were challenging. We were so close to the beginning but then she STOPPED again, COME ON MISS IT’S THEIR DECISION TO WORK OR NOT WORK JUST HURRY UP BECAUSE IT’S SO BORING!”  I thought in my head. I tried to keep my calm, cause I was as angry as a hungry lion.

“YES WE’RE FINISHED, WE’RE FINALLY FINISHED!” I yelled I was so happy but also in pain. Once we reached the 100th word I dropped my pencil and shook my hand because it was so sore I felt like a nail was going through my hand.

I think I done fine, well I don’t really care BECAUSE SPELLING IS THE WORST!

IAMT: Find the meaning of unknown words

Talofa. Today I wrote a summary about a story I had read. I added some words and the meaning of it.

WALT: Identify words or phrases that the author uses for affect.

Hi. Here are my Phrases from the skateboard ramp.

The Cool Duffy Show

On Tuesday 14th, Tamaki Primary had a whole school assembly/duffy show. We walked in and saw Duffy (Vita), and Jess. I was very excited because I knew we were going to have a great time. We have duffy shows because it encourages us to have passionate in our reading.

  1. When everybody was still settling in we sang some songs. I was so glad, because I really wanted to sing. The duffy show started and all the little kids kept on talking about Moana. The first part of the show was about Duffy trying to find a shade to read his books. Once he found the shade he saw a flying girl and was confused and felt like he wasn’t thinking straight.

2. The girl's name was Global Girl (Emily), she played a superhero that tried to save the world but there was one thing she couldn’t do and that was read. It was called Dyslexia. She asked for duffy's help since she saw he loved to read. They traveled around the world. There were some mistakes that Global girl had made because of the cause of not knowing how to read. Global Girls’s boss was mad and wanted to take Global girl back to their home but Duffy and Global girl begged for Global Girl to stay.

3. The boss allowed her to stay and Duffy and Global Girl were very pleased. Global Girl showed her appreciation by giving Duffy a cape. They were all ready to fix the problem but they needed to do one thing. First we helped Global Girl with her spelling, and then we helped her with how  to spell it. She was very thankful and overjoyed, now  that they were able to complete their mission. First they went and put out the fire in Australia, then they stopped the Cyclone in Tokelau. Global Girl had to apologize because she was the one who caused the problems.

At the end the boss (Jess), Duffy (Vita), and Global Girl (Emily), all gathered together and we all sang the duffy song. Everybody enjoyed it especially me, and now I put 100% into every time I read a book.
