😉SLJP Day 5 - Blink And You'll Miss It - Activity 1: Towering Timbers😉
Good Afternoon everybody! Today is DAY 5 of the SLJP! I will be doing ACTIVITY 1 of day 5! Let's get started!

Have you ever heard of a LOG or a LOGGER? Well loggers are people that cut down trees to make logs! These logs are sold and used to make houses, make paper and many more things. Some people think that having LOGGERS are really important because it provides us with everyday supplies but others believe LOGGERS should not be allowed because it might affect our environment and also is decreasing homes to many animals!

I think that loggers should not be allowed to cut down trees. I think this because it can affect our environment and it decreases the population of homes we have for our native animals/creatures! When loggers cut down trees, they are basically getting rid of homes where birds and wildlife animals live in. This can affect our population of animals because it means that these animals can be in danger or possibly be easily harmed!

Yes, trees do provide us with PAPER, WOOD and can create HEAT and POWER but I think we can find different ways to provide those things instead of cutting down trees which are really important for our environment! Trees are renewable which means they can regrow but how long does it take for a tree to fully regrow? Another question is how much time will the loggers have, to cut down that tree? Trees do help us a lot but with loggers cutting them down it does affect not only us but animals too!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that loggers SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to cut down trees!
Question of the blog: Do you think LOGGERS should exist?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to comment down below weather you agree with me or disagree with me, also give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward! Bye :)

  1. Hi again Lydia

You have constructed a very strong argument against logging. Well done! I agree with you that when we log trees we need to take into consideration the impact that that will have on the wider environment. Birds, insects and other forest creatures. Logging also has a wider impact on rivers, lakes etc.

While we do need wood to build homes, provide heat etc, I'm sure there are alternatives that we can come up with. What else do you think we could make homes with? Do you think we could use recycled products?

Thank you for sharing another thoughtful post. I look forward to reading more from you.

    Bye for now,
    Izzy
