Making Connections with the Solar System!!

Making Connections With The Solar System!!!IALT: talk about what I learnt during Inquiry!
Kia Ora and welcome to my blog. This terms Inquiry topic is Earth and beyond and in the Kia Manawanui syndicate, for inquiry we have been doing an investigation using the Inquiry Rocket! Well anyways, we split into groups (max 4) and in my group is Faka'ataBianna, and Tevita!! The topic that we decided to study about is the SOLAR SYSTEM!!!

So our first part of this investigation was FUEL UP! This is apart of the rocket and when you Fuel up you are asking questions and making connections so that is what we done!
In our groups we each got a piece of paper and wrote down our questions! Our questions are
What is the Solar System?
Who first discovered the Solar System? And When?

Where do the names of the Planets come from? And why were they named that way?

How is the Earth affected by the Solar System?

Can we survive in the Solar System or in other planets?

Is there Gravity in the Solar System?

Is the Solar System important to the living creatures/human beings on Earth?

We recently have been working on on our presentation with all our information on it! We are striving to get the excellence mark and we are doing pretty good! We have been working on our IGNITE stage which is Investigating and researching and summarising and interpreting! We are getting ready to move on to the TAKE OFF stage which is where we will be planning creating and sharing!
Our Inquiry Rocket, made by Akanesi!
Since my group is learning about the Solar System, we have been finding it easy to find heaps of information, not only from websites, but from BOOKS! I think this investigation will really help our learning due to the fact that we are not only using digital sources but we are able to use books, and each other to improve on our work!

We are almost done and I cannot wait for the finished product! Bye :)
