⛈️How Are People Affected By Natural Disasters?⛈️

WALT: Brainstorm about how people are affected in Natural Disasters!

Today for Inquiry with Ms Komor we talked about the people and how they are affected/involved in Natural Disasters! We got into groups and Ms Komor gave us a task which was to write down on a piece of calendar paper how people are affected by natural disasters!

The people on my table or in my group were Bianna, Kensington and Akanesi!

We watched a video showing us the aftermath of Cyclone Gita in Tonga which was really sad. We watched videos about Earthquakes and also Tsunamis in different countries, from these videos I learned that people have been through Natural Disasters and since they have been through it so many times they know what to do and how to handle it. On the other hand others aren't familiar with how it feels so they weren't sure of what to do!

We also had a brainstorm with a question on it! The question was 'How are people affected by Natural Disasters?' After watching the videos we added information onto the brainstorm! Here is a picture:

I enjoyed today's Inquiry lesson but did not enjoy seeing people get injured by these horrible Natural Disasters!

Fun fact: Cyclone Gita actually hit my family in Tonga which busted down some of their shelter :(
